Our Story

Flavours worth keeping.

Bomu Labs started with a simple belief: some flavours deserve to be remembered.

Not because they're extravagant or complicated. Because certain flavours can take you straight back to a place, or a moment, almost instantly.

A family kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, with something always simmering on the stove. A crowded night market, loud and a little chaotic, where you eat standing up because there's nowhere to sit.

A meal from a trip you took years ago that you still think about more than the trip itself.

When people book a holiday, the food is often something they look forward to just as much as the destination.

That feeling, of a place living on through what you ate there, is what inspired the Condiment Archive.

The Condiment Archive

Bomu Labs doesn't release random products. Every recipe becomes its own Archive Entry, with its own identity, its own story, and its own place in the Archive.

Rather than organising by ingredient or heat level, the Archive is organised by where each story begins, because that's really what each entry is about.

Archive Entry 001 begins in Colombo.

Copenhagen and Bangkok are already being developed as the next entries, and each city brings a completely different food story with it — different ingredients, different traditions, different reasons for existing.

The Archive will keep growing this way, one city and one flavour at a time, for as long as there are places worth remembering.

A Personal Note

I grew up in Sri Lanka and now live in Australia, and food has always been the thing that connects me most to places, past and present.

Travelling only made that feeling stronger. Landmarks fade in my memory faster than I'd like, but the flavours usually stay.

A neighbourhood restaurant I went back to more than once because I couldn't stop thinking about one dish. A family table with more food on it than the table could really hold.

Street food eaten standing up, well past midnight, because that's when it somehow tasted best. A simple dish I tried to recreate at home, years later, in a kitchen on the other side of the world, that never came out quite the same but was close enough to bring the whole memory back.

The Condiment Archive is my way of collecting those memories and sharing them.

My hope is that, in doing so, it inspires a little curiosity through flavour.

These releases are meant to end up on your plate, again and again, in your own kitchen, made a little differently every time.

Every Archive Entry is an invitation to go looking for the next one. One plate, one place, one story at a time.
